About CBP

Mission: Coffee Black Productions was founded in 2009 by Michael Bloom and Carrie Boehm to create a supportive environment for theatre artists, focusing on the text and the intent of the playwright.

Michael Bloom (Artistic Dictator) is a founding member of Coffee Black Productions.

He earned his MFA in Dramaturgy/Script Development from Columbia University as well as multiple BAs in History, Classics and Theater from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has worked for several New York producers both on and off Broadway, literary agents and Marvel Comics for a while. Currently, when not engrossed in all things CBP, he harasses theaters throughout the United States and Canada in order to get playwrights their money.

Carrie Boehm (Theatre Magician) is a founding member of Coffee Black Productions. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Playwriting at the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University and earned her BA in Theatre from Hamilton College, where she directed, wrote and produced numerous productions. She has worked with the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Classic Stage Company and most recently at Dramatists Play Service, and she has had several of her plays produced by Coffee Black Productions.
